WHAT IS THE SUN SHADING LOUVER MADE OF?
The Sun Shading Louver is made of 60% wood fibers, 35% high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and 5% additives. The profiles have a wall thickness of 5 mm and feature a co-extruded polyethylene layer. This composition ensures minimal discoloration, with a ΔE of less than 5 after 2000 hours of exposure.
The Sun Shading Louvers are available in three sizes:
- 42×60 mm (Density: 1190 kg/m³, Linear weight: 1.27 kg/m)
- 42×90 mm (Density: 1210 kg/m³, Linear weight: 1.96 kg/m)
- 42×145 mm (Density: 1200 kg/m³, Linear weight: 2.68 kg/m)
with a standard length of 3.90 m. They are reinforced with 2 mm thick aluminum profiles, capable of withstanding wind loads up to 5000 Pa depending on the configuration. These products are made from 95% recycled materials and are fully recyclable at the end of their life.
WHAT ARE THE INSTALLATION OPTIONS?
The Sun Shading Louver is a composite wood architectural element designed to regulate natural light and reduce direct sunlight while offering a refined, contemporary aesthetic. Its installation is modular and secure, thanks to reinforced aluminum profiles that can withstand significant wind loads.
HOW TO MAINTAIN IT?
Its co-extruded protective layer allows it to resist discoloration for years while maintaining the wood-like appearance and vibrant color. Like all our WEO® composite cladding, the louvers are protected by a thin UV-resistant polymer layer. Maintenance is minimal, and the exterior appearance of the building remains unchanged over time.
WHAT IS ITS DURABILITY?
Developed using the latest extrusion technologies, the Sun Shading Louver combines the durability of co-extrusion with the warm appearance of wood. The waterproof film applied to its surface significantly reduces facade maintenance and preserves the louver color over time. UV-resistant and non-porous, this coating ensures excellent resistance to weather and other external stresses.
WHAT ARE ITS TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS?
This contemporary architectural element reduces discomfort caused by direct sunlight, allowing natural light to enter without excessive heat.
Our Sun Shading Louvers are often used in HQE (High Environmental Quality) or BBC (Low Energy Consumption) buildings to regulate solar radiation inside residential or office spaces.
These profiles are decorative and do not provide waterproofing or insulation. The Sun Shading Louver can be used in all types of public buildings, commercial offices, and individual or collective housing without restriction.
A combination of design and functionality
The Sun Shading Louver is a true contemporary architectural feature. More than just a sunshade, it structures the facade and gives it an elegant rhythm with its fine, regular lines. When installed as a facade cladding, it interacts with light and shadow to enhance building volumes while maintaining interior comfort. Lightweight, modular, and durable, the Sun Shading Louver integrates seamlessly with any architectural style.
Architecture serving comfort
The Sun Shading Louver transforms the facade into a true design element. Its elegant profile emphasizes the building lines and creates dynamic shadow effects throughout the day. It contributes to the project’s visual identity while improving energy efficiency. By limiting direct solar radiation, it reduces summer overheating while preserving pleasant natural light indoors.
